No sympathy for Martinez and his moans

Roberto Martinez is upset with a referee, again.
This time he doesn’t think Kevin Mirallas should have been sent off for two bookable offences on Saturday.

For the first yellow card, he exaggerated a fall with, at best, minimal contact. For the second he went through a player, with an obviously nasty foul.

Martinez’s moans are becoming tiresome. Nor will he be getting much sympathy from West Ham.

On November 7 a bad tackle from James McCarthy of Everton took Dimitri Payet out of the game for nearly two months.

West Ham average 1.84 points per match with Payet in the side — without him that dropped to 1.14.

Had Payet not missed two months, and his club maintained that 1.86 rate, West Ham would now be placed third.

i've a sneaking suspicion he's a West Ham supporter!

his stuff is usually worth reading whether on sports or otherwise.

Spot on about martinez and good that he mentioned McCarthy as well, everybody knows he should have been red carded that day.

Everton should pick a red practically every time they play us the scumbags!

Great article, that although stating the obvious is absolutely correct.

Its why most people want Leicester to get the title.

Correct.

Although I am quite happy for other teams (fans) to think that.

I read the whole of the Martin Samuel article and he is scathing about the "secret big five" clubs. He also has interesting comments about the lady running Sunderland's day to day affairs.

We're not a one man team but when one man plays we do much better.

Wasn't just Payet that was out when we suffered, it was an array of injuries. Also, I dont think we were too bad without him (them). We managed, well Bilic did, incredibly well during that time.

Although he is an incredible player for us, we are not a one man team.

Yeah, not quite as simple as saying what would've happened.

I love that players like Collins & Antonio have come in and virtually made themselves undroppable.

eswing

plus who knows where Antonio would be now

either still stuck on the bench, or on loan in the Championship would be the most likely options

He might be right we dont know but I have this theory that with so many of our players getting injured and out for weeks and months and then others in the squad taking their places ,doing well and then the injured ones returning we dont look tired like say Spurs at the moment and it may well turn out a Blessing !
